Port Arthur and Orange are the other two corners. Your bill still has to name Beaumont.
The city history seats Beaumont on the west bank of the Neches, with Port Arthur and Orange in the Golden Triangle, and traces the town to the Tevis farm. Spindletop turned the economy to petroleum, refineries, and pipelines. Lamar's campus is here too. A farm story and a refinery invoice are not one pile.
Beaumont is in Jefferson County. The census counted 115,282 people. Combined sales tax on the Comptroller city file is 8.25%. City tax is 1.5%. No transit authority is listed. No special-purpose district is listed. State tax 6.25% plus the named local pieces equals 7.75%. Combined is 8.25%. The 0.5% gap is unnamed in those columns. Do not invent a district. County sales tax on the county file, not added on top of the combined city rate: Jefferson 0.5%. Business personal property rendition is due April 15 to the appraisal district for the county of the property (Jefferson County). Franchise (margin) tax report is due May 15. A no-tax-due threshold exists. Its dollar amount is not printed here. Texas has no personal income tax. The permit sets monthly, quarterly, or yearly sales-tax filing. Noah and Nancy Tevis farmed the west bank of the Neches, and the cluster there was called Tevis Bluff, also the Neches settlement. Santa Anna was the nearby cluster that got folded in. Spindletop is the gusher that turned the farm town toward petroleum, refineries, and pipelines. Port Arthur and Orange sit with it in the Golden Triangle. Lamar is the university on the main campus. A farm ledger and a refinery ticket do not share a drawer.
The Tevis ledger is crops and a bluff. The Spindletop ticket is a barrel, a pipeline, or a plant vendor. Lamar is tuition or a campus vendor if you actually bill the school. Most plants never do. The Neches is the bank the seat sits on. A barge on that river is haulage. It is not a barrel you refined and it is not a class roster.
Jefferson is the seat under the yard. Interstate 10 and the run toward the Gulf explain the map. They do not rename a Port Arthur ticket into this city. If the saved place says Orange or Port Arthur, it leaves. The Golden Triangle is a nickname for three towns, not one tax row.
