Beeville is the seat of Bee County, and ranch money is not a shop deposit.

On the Rio Grande plain. The old ranch economy is not a modern deposit label.

Bee County's seat is Beeville. If a ranch credit and a shop credit hit one account, you are in the right place. The file can be sorted without a drive.

Bee County, in its own words

Bee County was established in 1857 from San Patricio, Goliad, Refugio, Live Oak, and Karnes counties. The seat is Beeville. The name is Barnard Elliott Bee, Sr., who lived from 1787 to 1853 and served as secretary of state of the Republic of Texas.

The handbook puts the county on the Rio Grande plain, northwest of Corpus Christi, with U.S. highways 59 and 181 and state highways 202 and 359. An airport was built in 1966 to serve Beeville and the country around it. Northern ground sits in the Rio Grande embayment. The Lissie and Beaumont formations reach the south and make a broad flat plain. Blanco Creek, Medio Creek, and the Aransas drain toward the coast. The entry says the antebellum economy was based almost exclusively on cattle ranching. William and Patrick Quinn settled at Papalote Creek. People from Tipperary landed at Copano and moved inland toward the Aransas headwaters. At contact, Karankawa bands used the east, while Lipan Apache and Borrado people used the northwest and southwest. Skidi Pawnee points turned up in Sulphur Creek near present Pawnee. Carlos Martinez received a Spanish grant in 1789 tied to service at La Bahia.

Running a business here

Beeville still inherits a ranch history, and the books have to say which credit is which.

The July 2026 Comptroller figure used here shows a county sales tax of 0.5% for Bee County. State sales tax is 6.25%. Where a city has its own rate, that city rate stacks on the state rate and any county rate. The combined cap is 8.25%. City rates are not listed on this page.

Business personal property renditions go to the county appraisal district for Bee County. Put April 15 on the calendar. That district's form says which date controls the list.

The franchise report is due May 15. Texas has no state income tax. Neither date goes away because of that.

Working with Steven from Bee County

You share the QuickBooks Online file. Bank feeds come with that access. Documents go through a secure link. The first conversation is a 30-minute Teams call. Each month you get a short written note. Returns go out for e-signature. A time to start is on the Bookings page. You do not drive in, mail a box, or wait at an office. Send the file. The first pass names what is off. You get that note back while there is still time to use it.

Your Beeville desk can hold a ranch settlement and a shop ticket from town in the same closing, and the bank description will show only a name. The ranch settlement is cattle you sold off the place. The shop ticket is counter work done in town. Put cattle on the settlement and shop on the town ticket, because those are the jobs you actually did. If you hold only the settlement, leave the shop out of that closing.

An airport receipt joins your closing only when the fuel or the hangar charge was your own job. A receipt for someone else's trip stays out, even though the field sits in this county. You are the person who knows whether you were the customer.

Separate the cattle settlement from the town ticket at your desk before those two figures become one sales number. If they merge, you may restock the herd because the shop had a busy stretch, or you may staff the counter because a cattle sale made town seem busy.
