Rice on the marsh, minerals under it. The Trinity divides the ground.
Chambers County's seat is Anahuac, on coastal prairie the Trinity splits. Rice, cattle, and a mineral paper can share a week. They are not one kind of money. The file is read remotely.
Thomas Jefferson Chambers, a lawyer and surveyor who worked on land disputes in Mexican Texas, is the name. Anahuac is the seat. The county was formed in 1858 from Jefferson County and Liberty County.
The Trinity divides the ground. Galveston Bay and the Gulf close the south and southwest. Interstate 10 was built through in 1955. The Union Pacific is the railroad. Rice is the principal crop on the marsh, with corn, feed grains, citrus, vegetables, some cotton, and beef cattle also named. Salt domes, industrial sand, pine and hardwood, oil, gas, and sulfur are the resources. Karankawa, Coapite, and Copane people used the lower Trinity. The ground was part of the Atascosito district under Nacogdoches. Joseph Blancpain's 1754 trading trip on this bay is part of that early record.
Anahuac was called Chambersea when its post office opened. Wallisville marks the mission site of Nuestra Senora de la Luz. San Agustin de Ahumada Presidio stood near the Liberty line.
Anahuac can settle rice and a mineral paper in the same month.
The July 2026 Comptroller figure used here shows no county sales tax for Chambers County. State sales tax is 6.25%. Where a city has its own rate, that city rate stacks on the state rate and any county rate. The combined cap is 8.25%. City rates are not listed on this page.

The franchise report is due May 15. Texas has no state income tax. Neither date goes away because of that.
Anahuac was called Chambersea when the post office opened. Wallisville is the mission site of Nuestra Senora de la Luz. San Agustin de Ahumada Presidio stood on the east bank near the Liberty line, where missionaries worked among Orcoquiza people. Jean Laffite left this bay country around 1820. The handbook also names McCollum Park and the Texas Rice Festival. Citrus is a different paper from rice. Vegetables are a different paper from sulfur. Beef cattle are another paper if the barn treats them as separate. Interstate 10's construction year is not a reason to carry the folder into another city. Jefferson County and Liberty County are the 1858 parents and do not get the folder now.
Chambersea was the post-office name before Anahuac. Wallisville marks Nuestra Senora de la Luz. San Agustin de Ahumada Presidio stood near the Liberty line, where missionaries met Orcoquiza people. Jean Laffite departed around 1820. Coapite and Copane appear with Karankawa along the lower Trinity. Atascosito sat under Nacogdoches. McCollum Park and the Texas Rice Festival are later local names. Citrus, vegetables, feed grains, and beef cattle sit beside the rice. Interstate 10 reached this prairie in 1955 beside the Union Pacific. Anahuac stays the filing town where the Trinity divides the marsh.
Anahuac keeps QuickBooks Online. A secure link carries rice, citrus, cattle, or mineral, whichever the settlement paid. Teams takes 30 minutes. The bank feed learns that split. A short written note is the close. e-signature signs. The booking link is the appointment.
Other trades are on the industry list. This page stays the county.
