Named for David Crockett of the Alamo. Fort Lancaster stood on Live Oak Creek.
Crockett County's seat is Ozona. A canyon credit and a divide credit can share a month. The books are handled remotely.
Ozona sits between canyon country and a flat divide. The south and west of Crockett County are deep, narrow, steep-walled canyons and flat mesas. The north has broad valleys and flat divides. A large flat divide in the northeast separates the Colorado basin from the Rio Grande basin. The county name remembers the man who died at the Alamo. It was formed in 1875 from Bexar County, and Ozona is the seat.
Johnsons Run and Howard Draw cross the center toward the Devils River and the Pecos. Live Oak Creek runs south from the northwest and meets the Pecos at Lancaster Hill. The Pecos River is the west line.
Ozona can see a canyon credit and a divide credit.
The July 2026 Comptroller figure used here shows no county sales tax for Crockett County. State sales tax is 6.25%. Where a city has its own rate, that city rate stacks on the state rate and any county rate. The combined cap is 8.25%. City rates are not listed on this page.
Business personal property renditions go to the county appraisal district for Crockett County. Put April 15 on the calendar. That district's form says which date controls the list.
The franchise report is due May 15. Texas has no state income tax. Neither date goes away because of that.
Name the draw or the creek the paper already printed: Johnsons Run, Howard Draw, or Live Oak Creek. A canyon job and a divide job can share an Ozona month and still need two labels. Water that runs on toward the Devils River or the Pecos does not take the file with it. Use a basin word only when the paper is about which basin the work sat in.
Book a time if two draws are one line.
