Emma became the seat of government in 1891. Crosbyton is the seat now. Lorenzo is another community. Dickens County lies east and Garza County lies south. U.S. Highway 82 crosses the ground. The July 2026 Comptroller figure used here shows a county sales tax of 0.5% for Crosby County. State sales tax is 6.25%. Where a city has its own rate, that city rate stacks on the state rate and any county rate. The combined cap is 8.25%. City rates are not listed on this page.
Business personal property renditions go to the county appraisal district for Crosby County. Put April 15 on the calendar. That district's form says which date controls the list.
The franchise report is due May 15. Texas has no state income tax. Neither date goes away because of that.

The White River is not a playa. The Brazos forks are not Mount Blanco. Crosbyton remains the place the month closes. Emma belongs to 1891 and to papers from that time. Lorenzo is a community apart from both seats. Garza only touches the south line. U.S. Highway 82 crosses and does not decide which town the paper means. Stephen Crosby's land-commissioner title closed long ago. Mount Blanco marks the canyon, and Lorenzo does not.
