The Handbook of Texas names Georgetown for George Washington Glasscock, who with Thomas B. Huling donated the site on the San Gabriel River. Southwestern University is in the town. Williamson County is the only county on the row. Combined sales tax is 8.25 percent from a 2 percent city tax.

Swedish, Czech, and German family names on a roll are heritage. They do not split the tax row.
Williamson is the only county on this city row. City tax is 2 percent. Combined is 8.25 percent. No transit authority. Round Rock and Cedar Park, elsewhere in Williamson, keep their own rows.
