The fort names the town. It does not price the city row.
You searched San Angelo because a fort weekend and a Mertzon ticket were filed at one rate. The San Angelo city row in Tom Green County is 8.25% with a 1.5% city tax and a 0.5% county tax. Mertzon, the Irion city, is 7.25%. There is no San Angelo office to visit.
The Tom Green County entry calls San Angelo a regional center for communications, education, health care, industry, recreation, retail, retirement, and tourism. It names Fort Concho and events that include goat roping and the ranch rodeo. The city entry says San Angelo grew up across the North Concho from Fort Concho, established in 1867, and it names Angelo State University, which began as San Angelo College in 1928 and became a senior college in 1965. Goodfellow Air Force Base is on that page: selected as Goodfellow Air Field in 1940, later an intelligence-training post. The city entry also names manufacture of surgical sutures, denim, iron and steel, and oilfield equipment. Irion County is outlying. Oil was discovered there in 1928. Mertzon is the seat. This page does not repeat barrel counts. Tom Green County is central. Irion County is outlying.

Fort Concho explains the place. It does not set the percentage. Goodfellow was selected as an air field in 1940 and later trained intelligence courses. Irion is the outlying county. Lay the form beside slips that read San Angelo or Mertzon. The ranch drawer stays shut. The cut is which city the slip names. That note arrives early enough to correct the open form. A 1928 oil find in Irion does not paint a Tom Green county tax onto Mertzon. The franchise report is a later signature, not a stand-in. You keep working in San Angelo. No counter at the fort belongs to this practice.
An unsold goat is inventory. A Goodfellow event counts only when a tape says someone paid. Suture stock still in the plant is not revenue. Ringing Mertzon at the San Angelo cap charged a 1% city column for a figure that line does not carry.
Do not lift a Mertzon sale to the San Angelo total to make the drawer match. Goat roping and a suture shipment still need their own slips. San Angelo is the only Tom Green city on the file.
A trade other than the fort, the base, the campus, or the ranch starts on the industry list.
