You searched Victoria because both cities print 8.25% and the pieces do not match. Victoria is a 1.5% city tax plus a 0.5% county tax. Goliad is a 2% city tax and no county tax. No transit is on either line. There is no Victoria office to visit.
A barge canal ties the city to the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway. The city page derives income from oil, manufacturing, agribusiness, petrochemicals, and recreation, especially hunting, fishing, and boating. Its 1982 plants made oilfield and foundry equipment, aluminum, petrochemicals, and steel. Victoria College sits beside a University of Houston branch, and that page calls the town a medical center for a seven-county area. County agriculture is corn, beef cattle, grain sorghums, cotton, rice, and soybeans, alongside petrochemical plants and petroleum. Victoria County is central. Goliad County is outlying. Goliad is the outlying seat. A mid-1970s passage there names Hereford, Brahman, and Santa Gertrudis cattle. Goliad collects 2% municipal and nothing from the county. Victoria collects 1.5% municipal and a county half point. Both receipts can read 8.25%. No bus authority is on either line. The totals are the disguise.
